I did, twice, because Jehovah was not the problem. I was the problem. I'm on my 3rd try and I've been active for a decade now, and doing better than ever. Jehovah is merciful.

Would You Ever Go Back To The Witnesses??
by minimus inevery once in a while you hear people say they actually “miss” their old witness friends and or family.
some would have even stayed in the organization if they became a bit more liberal and open minded.

Who make up the new memorial partakers?
by jwfacts inwhen the doctrine regarding 1935 being the close of the calling was done away with in 2007, it was not unexpected to see the number rise.
over the next few years it went from around 8,500 to 10,500. this seemed to indicate that there were a couple of thousand people that may have felt they had the calling all along, but too shy to profess it.
for the 30 year period between the mid 1978 and 2007, parktakers had barely dropped.

The only new partaker I know is an older sister who was invited to start partaking quite unexpectedly.

The Truth that gives you eternal life
by RolRod innot sure if this is the proper place to post this.
i have a book, it's 8.5 x 11. the cover looks exactly like the old "truth" book, complete with bible embossed on the cover.
slight title change.

It's just a deceptive rewriting of the original book. Chapter 7 is "The reason why all Christians go to heaven." JWs don't believe that.

After the death of a spouse, how long did people wait to get remarried?
by RubaDub ini was on the phone with a long-time friend from my original congregation north of new york city and she told me that the 'shit hit the fan' when a brother (long-time elder i know well) got remarried about 6 weeks after his wife died.. he was about 60 and his new wife (a pioneer that i also know) was about 50 and had never been married.. it became a huge issue when the co came.
due to all the talk and chatter in the congregation, he even included in one of his talks without naming names, that marriage is something sacred and that when and how people get married is a personal matter as long as it conforms to bible standards.. anyway, it shut everybody up.
any similar experiences in your current/former congregations?.

I knew an elder who remarried quickly after his wife died, but he had a young child who desperately needed a mother. He married a single sister who also had a young child, so it was a logical thing to do. They are still married after several decades.

They are the group of Christians that Jehovah is using to accomplish His will on earth in this time of the end.

No. We've been waiting for the cry of peace and security and for the final seal of the anointed for decades, and we're still waiting.

What Will Happen To President Trump In Your Opinion?
by minimus inhe has been “impeached “.
will he be convicted in the senate?
is he so “damaged goods” that he is ineffectual?

In my opinion he will not be impeached in the Senate. He will be elected to and serve an effectual second term.

Did You Know Any "Genuine"" Old School Anointed?
by Number 6 ingrowing up in scotland in the 1970s in scotland the anointed were few and far between, but we had one old dude in our cong who claimed to be one of the anointed.
in the days when it was taken seriously.. i'd be curious how you viewed them.
thing is, he wasn't an elder, or even a ministerial servant, just a plain old publisher.. but he was revered like he had a hotline to jesus.. the other week i was talking to a friend of similar age to me but who hung around the wt a lot longer than i did, and he just commented "oh him... he was a doddery old fool who used to just sit and piss himself.

There was a wonderful old anointed sister in my first congregation when I was baptized as a young woman. We had so much in common in spite of the difference in our ages. I didn't know how to relate to her being anointed, I was so new as one of JWs. Now that I'm getting old, I often remember her. I wish I could be friends with her now, with me as a mature Christian, but she's long dead.

Why are they buying names and addresses?
by Lost in the fog inapparently the jws of coventry, england, have been spending their congregation's money buying names and addresses from the local council.
i wonder what they want them for and is this something that each congregation does?
